Advancing digital skills is a crucial societal challenge that brings together a wide range of stakeholders in Luxembourg. The success of this initiative relies on effective collaboration among these actors. Our three data analysis training projects—Business Intelligence (BI) Academy, Data Engineering (DE) Academy, and Data Science for Fintech—are designed to address this challenge by focusing on equipping women and individuals from underrepresented groups with essential digital skills for upskilling and career transition.

THE CHALLENGE

WeStem+ Data Science Training Program for women are ongoing over years. Bu if the government co-finances this type of initiatives from non-for-profit organization, it misses synergies with existing national platforms and certification schemes

OUR SOLUTION

To overcome the limitations of a purely sponsorship-based approach, public authorities engage in a strategic partnership model with the project promoters. This includes early involvement in the definition of objectives, target groups, and success indicators, trying to obtain best possible alignment with the EU Digital Decade 2030 targets, in particular on ICT specialists and gender convergence.

OUTCOME

The aim is to facilitate career transitions for individuals seeking to move into data and technology fields from other sectors. The program provides reskilling resources, career coaching and hands-on projects that enable participants to gain relevant experience and qualifications: 85 participants are trained in 2 years

KEY TAKEAWAYS

We learned that regular exchanges between public authorities, training providers, and employers are essential to translate skills development into concrete employment opportunities for women and underrepresented groups.
