Riga TechGirls is a nonprofit organization based in Latvia that empowers girls and women to pursue technology by offering education, workshops, and mentorship opportunities focused on digital skills and programming.
Mission and Programs
Their mission centers on increasing diversity and inclusion in technology, giving women and girls opportunities to lead, innovate, and thrive in the digital economy. They organize free events, summer schools for teenagers, mentorship programs, and workshops that span topics like programming, digital marketing, business, and more.
Impact and Community
Riga TechGirls is the first community of its kind in Latvia, actively supporting women at all proficiency levels—from beginners to tech professionals and startup founders. Their mentorship program connects mentees with experienced professionals for six months, providing real-world practical experience, supportive networking, and career-building resources.
International Reach
Although based in Riga, their programs have attracted participants from around the world, demonstrated by initiatives like the “Digital ABCs” online education program, which in 2023 drew users from 86 countries. Their work also extends to raising digital literacy among teachers, healthcare professionals, and other groups vital to digital growth.
